Biography

José Pineda de Gyvez is a Full Professor in Resilient Nanoelectronics at the Department of Electrical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). His research focuses on ultra-low power designs and variability tolerance in context-aware computing. Pineda's expertise encompasses semiconductor technology market intelligence, advanced systems for power management, and low-power techniques in integrated circuits. He is known for deploying power management techniques across application domains like microcontrollers, personal health, and the Internet of Things. An expert in low-power digital designs, Pineda has worked with techniques such as (near) subthreshold design and Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling (DVFS), and technology-aware physical design. He became an IEEE Fellow in 2009 and serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems Part II and IEEE Transactions on Semiconductor Manufacturing. Pineda has published over 100 papers in the fields of testing, nonlinear circuits, and low-power design and is a co-author of four books with more than 30 granted patents. His work has been recognized in both academic and industrial settings, and his research has received funding from various institutions, including the Dutch Ministry of Science.
