Josée Hébert is a full professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Montreal and the holder of the Industrial-Alliance Research Chair in leukemia. She is the founder and director of the Quebec Leukemic Cell Bank, a provincial research infrastructure that has contributed to several important research projects on blood cancers since 2003. Dr. Hébert is also on the executive committee of the Cancer Research Network of the Quebec Research Fund - Health. As a hematologist in the hematology-oncology and cellular therapy service of HMR, she is involved in patient care and teaching in the leukemia program and leads the clinical cytogenetics laboratory. Dr. Hébert has developed substantial expertise in leukemia and oncological cytogenetics and is a principal co-researcher within the Leucegene team at IRIC-HMR, an interdisciplinary research team focused on leukemia. The goal of this group is to identify new biomarkers and therapeutic targets and develop new precision therapies in acute myeloid leukemia.
