Josef T. Boronski is an Assistant Professor and Royal Society University Research Fellow in the Department of Chemistry at Imperial College London. He graduated with an MChem from the University of York in 2017 and went on to pursue a PhD in organo-actinide chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Steve Liddle at the University of Manchester, which he completed in 2021. Following this, he was awarded a Junior Research Fellowship at St John’s College, Oxford, working with Prof. Simon Aldridge FRS. His research primarily focuses on organometallic chemistry, particularly the synthesis and reactivity of organometallic complexes involving elements across the Periodic Table. Key themes in his research include metal-metal bonding, low-oxidation state complexes, and small molecule activation. His work has been recognized with several awards, including the Dalton Emerging Researcher Award from the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2023 and the Voice of the Future Award from the Royal Society of Biology in 2024.
