Biography

Josefina Posch is a Senior Lecturer in Fine Art and the Director of the BFA Fine Art Program at HDK-Valand, University of Gothenburg. She has served as the Director of Studies for MFA Programs at her institution and is an elected representative on the Steering Group for KUNO, a Nordplus network comprising 18 Nordic-Baltic fine art academies. Posch's artistic practice intertwines research with a focus on expanded field sculpture, with material investigations centered around environmental sustainability. An internationally active artist, she has participated in exhibitions and artist-in-residencies across the Nordic countries, Europe, the USA, Canada, Cuba, China, India, and Georgia.Throughout her career, Posch has been awarded grants from various prestigious organizations, including the Swedish Arts Grant Committee, IASPIS International Collaboration Grant, Göteborg City Arts Council, and Arts Council England. In 2010, she founded Snowball Cultural Productions, a curatorial platform that includes SculptureHUB, a forum aimed at women sculptors. Her work addresses a range of contemporary issues, and she is known for her contributions to discussions on ecological and cultural themes in art.
