Dr. Joseph Becker

Biography

Joseph Becker is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of California, San Francisco in 2003. Following this, he completed his internship in Aerospace Medicine at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and then specialized in Emergency Medicine through residency training at Yale University, finishing in 2010. Dr. Becker also completed a fellowship in Global Emergency Medicine at Stanford University. He has served as a Laboratory Officer and Associate Research Scientist at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University, and he is a Senior Lecturer and Visiting Associate Professor at the University of Rwanda. He has spent nearly twenty years aiding in the Emergency and Critical Care Residency program there. Currently, Dr. Becker is the Head of the Curriculum for Emergency Medicine at the University of Global Health Equity in Rwanda and serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force/California Air National Guard as an Aerospace Operational Medicine specialist and Flight Surgeon for the 129th Rescue Wing. His clinical focus is on Emergency Medicine.
