Biography

Joseph Ferenbok is an Associate Professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology at the University of Toronto. He co-founded the Translational Research Program (TRP), which focuses on training students in creative problem-solving to translate research innovations into health sciences. Dr. Ferenbok serves as Course Director for Translational Research Methods Practices Contexts and as an Instructor for the Translational Thinking module. He also holds the position of Associate Director at the Health Innovation Hub, a Temerty Faculty of Medicine initiative aimed at facilitating translation, innovation, and commercialization in health. Founder and Chief Ideator of the Ideation Clinic, he works to assist individuals from various disciplines in generating and developing innovative ideas. His passion lies in collaborative problem-solving and understanding systematic approaches to mobilizing knowledge for health improvement. Dr. Ferenbok aims to design efficient and effective person-centric interventions, including diagnostics, therapeutics, medical procedures, and behavioral change strategies to improve public health.
