Joseph joined the Western Australia Node National Imaging Facility as the inaugural Radiochemistry Facility Fellow in 2022. His academic appointment focuses on supporting PET MRI imaging research trials at WA NIF, where he plays a key role in the RAPID team by providing novel radiopharmaceuticals. Joseph was involved in the fit-out and commissioning of the WA NIF Facility, which will officially open in October 2023, alongside the new RAPID GMP Cyclotron Facility, planned for opening in 2025. This facility features specialized radiochemistry infrastructure co-funded by UWA NIF. As a certified radiopharmaceutical scientist registered with the Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine, he currently serves as a Supervisor Assessor for RPS registrars. His research interests include novel methods for 18F synthesis quality control, preclinical PET imaging, technology transfer for developing new radiopharmaceuticals, and imaging techniques for infection, inflammation, cancer treatment, and studying neurodegenerative disorders. Joseph earned his PhD at the University of Sydney in 2011, where he worked under Professors Lou Rendina and Michael Kassiou. He has since been involved in significant post-doctoral research exploring gallium-67/68 tracers for imaging infections and contributing to quality control and production of various radiopharmaceuticals at esteemed institutions.
