He frequently lectures across China, Europe, and the U.S. Among his recent publications are "Why Chinese Sing Shijing Songs?" included in the Oxford Handbook of Chinese Music (edited by Jonathan Stock and Yu Hui, 2023), as well as contributions to the Oxford Handbook of Music and Queerness (2022) and Read Chinese Drama (2021). In Winter 2024, he is set to teach a course on shiyue, traditional Chinese songs based on the Shijing, a classic anthology of Confucian texts.
