Professor Dr. Joseph Steiner

Biography

Joseph Steiner is an Assistant Professor and a Clinical Nuclear Medical Physicist at the University of Chicago. He serves as the Director of Nuclear Medicine Physics and is an assistant radiation safety officer in the Radiology Department at the University of Chicago Medicine. Dr. Steiner holds a faculty position on the Committee of Medical Physics at the University. His research focuses on nuclear medicine and theranostics, along with interests in education, ethics, radiation safety, and the medical physics workforce. He actively contributes to several committees including the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM), the American Board of Radiology (ABR), and the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI). Dr. Steiner's educational background includes a PhD in Medical Physics from Louisiana State University and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Buffalo State College. He has received several awards for his outstanding contributions to teaching and research in the field of medical physics.
