Biography

Joseph Eugene Talley is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Duke University. His academic background includes a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia obtained in 1977. He has held various appointments within the department, including Professor of Medical Psychology, Clinical Professor of Medical Psychology, Associate Clinical Professor, and Assistant Clinical Professor. Talley's research focuses on needs assessments in psychology, exploring the intersections of theology and spirituality within psychotherapy practices, and patient/client satisfaction services. He employs the Outcome Questionnaire 45.2 instrument to measure changes and differences across various demographics, including gender, enhancing the understanding of test properties and their applicability in clinical settings.
