Biography

Joseph Taylor grew up in California and Oregon, spending a considerable portion of his youth wandering western North America, which contributes to his scholarly fascination with the region. He completed degrees from the University of Oregon (1990, 1992) and the University of Washington (1996). He taught for seven years at the History Department of Iowa State University before joining the History Department at Simon Fraser University in 2004.
