Biography

Joseph Jiong Wang is a Professor in the Department of Astronautical Engineering at the University of Southern California. He earned his Ph.D. in Plasma Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1991, and he has held various academic positions since then. Prior to his current role at USC, he served as an Associate Professor at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where he was also the Co-Director of the Center for Space Science Engineering Research. Additionally, he has experience with NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. His research interests include Astronautical Plasma Dynamics, Space Plasma Physics, and Advanced Spacecraft Propulsion, among others.
