Biography

Joseph P. Weber is the George Maverick Bunker Professor of Management at the MIT Sloan School of Management. His research specializes in the empirical work on the significance of accounting information in financial contracts. Recent studies have documented innovations in the commercial debt market focusing on performance pricing which enhances efficient contracting and reduces expected renegotiation costs. He is recognized with several honors, including the 2018 Samuel E. Seegal Faculty Prize awarded for excellence in inspiring students to pursue academic achievement.
