Biography

Joseph Zayed holds a Ph.D. in Public Health, with a focus on Environmental Toxicology. He has served as a full professor at the Université de Montréal and has also been the director of graduate studies in Global Environmental Health and Disaster Management. He was the director of the Interuniversity Center for Toxicology from 2001 to 2004 and chaired the Canadian Network of Toxicology Centres from 2003 to 2004. His research primarily focuses on risk analysis to assess environmental contamination and human exposure to various chemicals, evaluating their potential health effects. He has worked extensively on topics including environmental contamination assessment, toxicity of beryllium, nanoparticles, and the impact of climate change on health. With over 230 scientific publications, Zayed has also been involved in various research projects and has served as an international scientific evaluator. He received the Teaching Excellence Award from the Université de Montréal in 1995 and has been actively involved in several academic and research committees.
