Biography

Joseph D. Zuckerman, MD, is a renowned orthopedic surgeon specializing in Hip and Knee Reconstruction as well as Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. He has been a pivotal figure in NYU Langone Health since joining in 1984. With a profound focus on shoulder replacement surgery outcomes and orthopedic resident education, Dr. Zuckerman performs over 350 shoulder, hip, and knee replacements annually and has carried out more than 5,000 such procedures throughout his career. He was named a Top Doctor by New York Magazine and is the Walter A.L. Thompson Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. His extensive training includes a clinical fellowship in reconstructive surgery at Brigham Women's Hospital following his residency at the University of Washington Medical Center.
