Josephine Ebba Thorup Arnfred is a PhD fellow at the University of Copenhagen, where her research primarily focuses on the persistent underrepresentation of women in top-level public management across various countries. With women making up the majority of public employees in many contexts, she aims to understand the mechanisms behind this imbalance and explore potential solutions, particularly the role of female role models, their effects on aspirations, and the importance of policy support. Her methodological approach employs experimental methods, chiefly survey experiments, alongside a broader interest in quantitative methods. She seeks to provide insights into gender representation, organizational dynamics, and how these elements intersect in public management settings.
