I am a Research Fellow in the Musculoskeletal Health Program at the George Institute for Global Health and a conjoint lecturer in the School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of New South Wales. I was awarded a PhD in Pharmacology Physiology by UNSW in 2021, after completing a Bachelor of Science with Honours at UNSW in 2017. My primary research focus is on the role of exercise supplements in enhancing exercise outcomes in disease models. My work investigates the potential synergism between exercise and novel supplements in addressing obesity, type 2 diabetes, and metabolic disease. I am passionate about teaching and supervision, particularly interested in exploring novel interventions—surgical, pharmacological, and lifestyle strategies—to improve patient outcomes and quality of life. Osteoarthritis and musculoskeletal diseases are major public health concerns, causing pain, disability, and high healthcare costs. Exercise is a proven intervention to improve symptoms and function, yet patient adherence remains low due to discomfort and lack of motivation. My research aims to develop novel therapeutic strategies that enhance exercise outcomes, making it easier and more effective for patients to manage their conditions.
