Josh Bloch holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Columbia University and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University. With decades of experience in software research and development, he joined Transarc, a CMU spinoff, as a Senior Systems Designer after completing his Ph.D. He then became a Distinguished Engineer at Sun Microsystems, where he wrote the Collections library for Java.
