Dr. Josh Renfro

Biography

Josh Renfro received his Ph.D. in Classics from the Joint Program in Ancient Philosophy at the University of Texas at Austin in 2024. His current research focuses on the interaction between ancient rhetoric, science, and philosophy, particularly in the context of ancient erotic communication and the practice of Platonism. He has active research interests in Greek and Latin literature, the history of philosophy, and non-Western philosophical thought. Josh has taught courses in Greek and Latin language, literature, history, and culture at prominent institutions including the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Georgia, and St. John's College.
