Biography

Joshua Cohen is a Distinguished Senior Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, specializing in political philosophy. He has written extensively on issues such as democratic theory, freedom of expression, religious freedom, political equality, and global justice. His notable works include 'Philosophy, Politics, Democracy' (Harvard University Press, 2009), 'Rousseau: Free Community Equals' (Oxford University Press, 2010), and 'Arc Moral Universe Essays' (Harvard University Press, 2011). Cohen is also a co-editor of the 'Norton Introduction to Philosophy'. He balances his time at Apple University with his duties at Berkeley, contributing to the School of Law, Department of Philosophy, and Department of Political Science.
