Biography

Joshua Evans is an Associate Professor in the Department of Earth & Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Alberta. He is a human geographer with a broad interest in the geographies of marginalization, approaching his work from interrelated themes of space, knowledge, and power. His research utilizes a variety of theoretical frameworks including governmentality theory, actor-network theory, and assemblage theory, while employing diverse methodological approaches such as discourse analysis, in-depth interviewing, participant observation, arts-based inquiry, and participatory action research.
