Dr. Joshua Gauger

Biography

Joshua Gauger completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, followed by a medical degree from the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine. He earned an MBA from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University in Tempe. He subsequently completed his residency in emergency medicine at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he served as a Resident Assistant Medical Director in the Center for Emergency Care during his final year of training. Currently, Joshua serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Wisconsin, where he also holds the position of Medical Director for the BerbeeWalsh Emergency Department at UW Health University Hospital. In his role, he focuses on maintaining an efficient and productive care team to provide outstanding emergency care to patients. Joshua enjoys his non-clinical work related to quality improvement, patient safety, and operations. His current projects include initiatives on sepsis, stroke, and trauma. Additionally, he leads efforts in the emergency medicine residency's quality improvement and patient safety curriculum.
