Currently, Joshua Iszatt’s postdoctoral research focuses on developing robust bioinformatics pipelines to ensure the safety of phage preparations for therapeutic use. He has a strong interest in computational analyses, particularly in preclinical assessments and discovery. Joshua began his academic journey by characterizing a number of antimicrobial peptides, specifically endolysins, through in silico methods derived from genomic data during his PhD. His work contributed to obtaining seed funding aimed at further exploring these avenues. His ongoing projects have long-term goals of utilizing computational methods to accelerate traditionally costly and time-consuming laboratory experiments that are required for generating preclinical data.
Requirements are standardized across the Graduate School for most Master by Coursework programs at UWA.
