Biography

Joshua Schulman, M.D. is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist dedicated to providing compassionate clinical care and expert interpretation of skin biopsy specimens. He serves as the Director of Dermatopathology and Assistant Chief of Dermatology at the VA Northern California Health Care System. Dr. Schulman graduated from Harvard Medical School and completed his residency and fellowship training at the University of California, San Francisco. His research has focused on discovering the genetic causes of hereditary skin cancer syndromes and gaining new insights into how the immune system influences the spread of metastatic skin cancer. Dr. Schulman is passionate about training the next generation of physicians and has been recognized as Volunteer Faculty Teacher of the Year by the UC Davis Departments of Dermatology and Pathology multiple times. He is also the president of the Sacramento Valley Dermatology Society.
