Dr. Joshua Sellers

Biography

Joshua Sellers is a Professor at the University of Texas School of Law specializing in election law, constitutional law, race law, and American politics. He is widely published in leading academic journals including the Stanford Law Review, Vanderbilt Law Review, University of Pennsylvania Law Review, and New York University Law Review. His scholarship has been recognized with numerous accolades, notably the AALS Section on Election Law awards in 2022 and the prestigious Berlin Prize from the American Academy in Berlin, which represents the highest standards of excellence in the field. Professor Sellers is also a member of the American Law Institute and serves as an advisor for the Institute's Election Litigation project. Before entering academia, he clerked for Judge Rosemary Barkett on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and worked as a litigation associate at Jenner & Block LLP in Washington, D.C. He holds a J.D. and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Chicago, and a B.A. in Political Science and Afroamerican African Studies from the University of Michigan. Professor Sellers teaches various courses including Constitutional Law and Election Law.
