Biography

I am currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Guelph, serving as Co-Academic Director of the Centre for Advancing Responsible and Ethical Artificial Intelligence (CARE-AI). I moved to the University of Guelph in January 2020, having previously taught ethics in the Interdisciplinary Data Science program and the Quantitative Management program at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. I received my PhD in Philosophy from the University of Oregon in 2017 and my academic exploration has focused on applied ethics, including AI ethics, bioethics, and business ethics, as well as moral psychology and related fields. My recent projects investigate the philosophical implications of generative AI and maintain engagement with traditional philosophical domains such as virtue ethics. I welcome new graduate students interested in these areas of study.
