Biography

Dr. Joshua Soo is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Centre for Net-Zero Technology, Monash University, Malaysia. He completed his PhD at the Australian National University in 2024, focusing on scalable synthesis of earth-abundant catalysts for (photo)electrochemical water-splitting. Prior to this, he earned a Master of Philosophy and a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) from Universiti Malaya and Multimedia University in 2019 and 2016, respectively. His research includes hands-on experience as a research assistant at an ANU-based start-up, specializing in electrode fabrication for industrial-scale electrolysers. Joshua's current research interests center on electrocatalyst synthesis and (photo)electrode device fabrication, prioritizing sustainable materials and processes. He is actively exploring green hydrogen technology and its applicable uses. Joshua's work aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, contributing to global efforts towards sustainability and innovation. He has been recognized with multiple awards at university, national, and international levels for his contributions to the field.
