Dr. Joy Gelbman

Biography

Joy M. Gelbman, M.D. specializes in General Cardiology and Cardiovascular Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and has expertise in echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. Dr. Gelbman's practice includes managing patients with hypertension, hyperlipidemia, coronary artery disease, and valvular heart conditions. She has a particular interest in women's cardiovascular health. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Gelbman serves as the Assistant Director of Population Health, providing medical leadership for care management and improvement programs to optimize patient outcomes while reducing costs. She received her M.D. from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2000 and completed her internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical Center - New York Presbyterian Hospital. As an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine, Dr. Gelbman is involved in educating future healthcare providers and participates in Medicare ACO shared savings programs to enhance the overall care experience. Her contributions extend into collaborations with both for-profit and non-profit organizations to promote scientific innovation and transparency in medical practice.
