Biography

Joy Vimaladevi is a Senior Lecturer at the Clinical School in Johor Bahru, Monash University Malaysia. She began her association with the Clinical School in 2011, initially serving as sessional staff for Year 4 General Practice (GP). Since 2012, she has been a fractional staff member, focusing primarily on the GP rotation for Year 4 students. Joy is also involved in facilitating interdisciplinary workshops and Clinical Reasoning Sessions for medical students, where she guides Year 4 students through the complexities of General Practice. Furthermore, she has contributed her expertise as a facilitator for Year 3 Problem-Based Learning (PBL) sessions. Apart from her teaching responsibilities, Joy has served as a Committee Member for PCAJB and was an editor for the PCAJB Newsletter from 2007 to 2012. Her research interests include integrated education and the development of undergraduate medical education, with a particular emphasis on innovative teaching methods such as contraception teaching for medical undergraduates. She has published articles highlighting the benefits of interactive approaches in medical education.
