Professor Dr. Joyal Miranda

Biography

Joyal Miranda is an Associate Professor at the Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing at Toronto Metropolitan University, a position he has held since 2010. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) from Toronto Metropolitan University and pursued a Master of Nursing (MN) and PhD at the University of Toronto. Following his doctoral studies, he completed postdoctoral research at the University of Montreal. His research primarily focuses on HIV prevention, specifically the development and use of innovative web-based interventions aimed at enhancing condom use among HIV-positive individuals. He is also involved as a co-investigator in Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)-funded studies that examine patients’ preferences regarding health prevention interventions.
