Biography

Y. Joyce Liao is a physician-scientist dedicated to making fundamental discoveries to improve clinical care and treatment for patients with eye-brain diseases. Her research focuses on the pathogenesis and novel treatment options for optic neuropathies, impacting the visual connections between the eye and brain. Key areas include development of advanced imaging techniques, understanding molecular changes leading to vision loss, and testing innovative treatments for optic neuropathies.
