Biography

Dr. Njoroge is a board-certified physician and fellowship-trained cardiologist at Stanford Health Care, specializing in the Advanced Heart Failure Program. Her extensive clinical experience includes diagnosing and treating cardiovascular complications in the context of pregnancy and postpartum. She specifically focuses on the care of patients with a history of pregnancy-associated heart failure and cardiomyopathy. Dr. Njoroge's research aims to identify inherited genetic changes and biological markers that can improve screening and care for pregnant women in higher risk populations, particularly in understanding the causes of the disproportionately high rates of heart-related complications and deaths among Black women during pregnancy. Currently, she is recruiting patients for a large-scale, multicenter clinical trial evaluating a drug to treat cardiovascular complications during pregnancy. Dr. Njoroge has published her work in several prestigious peer-reviewed journals and has co-authored a chapter on cardiovascular disease in pregnancy in the latest edition of 'Current Diagnosis & Treatment: Cardiology'. She is involved with various professional organizations including the Association of Black Cardiologists, American College of Cardiology, and American Heart Association.
