Dr. Ju Kim

Biography

Ju Yon Kim is the Patsy Takemoto Mink Professor at Harvard College, where she serves as the Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of English. She specializes in Asian American literature, modern contemporary theater, and performance studies. Kim has published numerous works highlighting the intersection of race, performance, and culture, including her award-winning article in Modern Drama and her book 'Racial Mundane: Asian American Performance Embodied Everyday,' which received the 2016 Lois P. Rudnick Award from the New England American Studies Association. She is committed to mentoring students, particularly those from BIPOC and first-generation backgrounds, in their academic journeys. Her extensive research includes topics in intercultural performances and the reconstruction of Asian American narratives within mainstream theater.
