Biography

Juan Pablo Bello is a Professor at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering, specializing in Music Technology and Engineering. He received his Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics from Universidad Simón Bolívar in Caracas, Venezuela in 1998 and completed his Doctorate in Electronic Engineering at Queen Mary, University of London in 2003. His expertise lies in digital signal processing, machine listening, and music information retrieval. As the director of the Music Audio Research Lab (MARL), he leads research in sound and music informatics. Juan has published more than 100 academic papers, articles, books, and conference proceedings. His research has garnered support from various public and private institutions both in Venezuela and the UK, including National Science Foundation awards and Fulbright grants, and he engages in multidisciplinary studies in France.
