Dr. Juan Gonzalez

Biography

Juan Gonzalez instructs MBA and undergraduate courses in real estate finance and investment at USC Marshall School of Business. He is an independent real estate investor and consultant based in Los Angeles and Mexico, currently developing an adaptive reuse commercial real estate project in Central LA. His professional experience includes serving as Managing Director at 7 Bridges Capital Partners, a real estate investment platform focused on Latin America that is backed by U.S. institutional capital, from 2015 to 2021. Prior to that, he held multiple roles in investment and lending related to real estate debt and equity vehicles in Mexico from 2006 to 2015. He began his career as a financial analyst assessing securitization of real estate finance vehicles at Mexico's central bank. Additionally, Juan has taught economics and statistics at Loyola Marymount University, and venture management economics at California Lutheran University. He has also been involved in international banking at ITAM in Mexico City. Juan earned his Full-Time MBA from UCLA Anderson in 2004 and his Bachelor's degree in Economics from Universidad de las Américas – Puebla in 2000. He is an active short-distance triathlete and has represented Mexico’s National Team in age group World Championships in 2014 and 2015, as well as classified to race in the U.S. Nationals in 2024.
