Biography

Judith Depue is a Clinical Professor Emerita in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University. She officially retired in 2013 but has spent decades focusing her research on public health approaches to deliver behavioral and lifestyle interventions, particularly in primary care settings for underserved populations. Throughout her career, she served as a staff psychologist at the Miriam Hospital Behavioral Medicine Clinic and held significant teaching roles, including the supervision of pre-doctoral psychology residents and post-doctoral fellows at Brown's Clinical Psychology Training Consortium. In addition to her academic work, she volunteered as a psychologist at the Family Care Clinic at Memorial Hospital in Rhode Island from 2013 to 2017, providing essential behavioral health care in a primary care context. Even after her retirement, she continues to lead community efforts that aim to foster constructive communications regarding climate change. Her research has notably included exploring the long-term impact of community health worker interventions on diabetes control in American Samoa. She has published numerous articles and has been active in various professional societies, including the Society of Behavioral Medicine and the American Psychological Association.
