Biography

Dr. Judith Kehler Siebert is an internationally recognized pianist and chamber musician with an esteemed teaching career at the University of Manitoba's Desautels Faculty of Music. A native of Manitoba, Dr. Siebert returned to her roots at the University of Manitoba in 2002 after completing advanced degrees at the Eastman School of Music. She has performed across three continents, showcasing standard repertoire as well as new music from contemporary composers. Her involvement in world premieres includes over 20 major commissioned works, contributing to her reputation as a distinguished advocate for modern repertoire. Dr. Siebert is noted for her collaborative work, having been the founding member of the Quarks! Trio, which embraces innovative compositions and has performed over 350 concerts since 1989. Her educational involvement extends to various institutions, including Concord College, Sir Wilfrid Laurier University, and Syracuse University, and she has been pivotal in establishing the Collaborative Piano Committee within the Music Teachers National Association. In 2020, she co-founded the Dream Big: Music Bounds conference, fostering discussions and performances centered around collaborative piano art. Dr. Siebert's contributions to music education and performance continue to inspire students and audiences alike.
