Dr. Judith Lynch Sauer

Biography

Judith Lynch-Sauer is a Clinical Assistant Professor Emerita at the University of Michigan School of Nursing. With a PhD in Nursing, she has a rich background focused on chronic depression and the use of innovative strategies such as music interventions and video games in nursing education. She engages in research related to 'Progressive Illness Management' which aims at assisting individuals with chronic depression through manualized group approaches. Her involvement extends to addressing issues like lateral violence and staff mentoring in psychiatric settings. Judith is passionate about teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in psychiatric-mental health nursing, emphasizing complementary and alternative therapies. She has mentored students through honors programs and dissertation projects, fostering their development in the nursing field. Judith actively participates in professional organizations, including Sigma Theta Tau, and has served in various capacities within the Great Lakes Center for Healing Touch.
