Biography

Judith Mandl is an Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology and an Associate Member of the Department of Physiology at McGill University. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) from the University of Warwick, where she studied Computational Biology. She completed her PhD at Emory University focusing on Population Biology, Ecology, Evolution, and Immunology. Following her doctoral studies, she pursued postdoctoral research at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) of the National Institutes of Health, concentrating on Immunology and Systems Biology. Her research interest revolves around T cell dynamics within the adaptive immune system, particularly investigating the motility and migration processes of T cells through complex tissues. She employs a systems approach to understand T cell immunity at various levels, from organismal responses to infection and homeostasis down to cellular mechanisms of migration and gene expression. Judith has received the Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Immune Cell Dynamics from 2021 to 2025, acknowledging her contribution to the field of immunology.
