Judy Thompson (Edōsdi) is an Associate Professor at the University of Victoria, specializing in Indigenous Education. She has a robust background as a trained school teacher and has taught courses encompassing Indigenous Studies, Education, Math, Geography, and Physics. Thompson emphasizes the importance of hands-on experiential learning, providing students opportunities to work alongside Elders and community members. Her research primarily focuses on Indigenous language revitalization and education, exploring methodologies grounded in Indigenous knowledge systems and community-based research. Through her work, she aims to Indigenize teacher education and develop curricula that honor Indigenous cultures and languages.
