Biography

Juerg Weber is an Associate Professor and Senior Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia. His research primarily focuses on macroeconomics, particularly monetary economics and insurance economics. He has written extensively on topics related to monetary policy and central banking, as well as the operational aspects of monetary systems. In addition, he has conducted research on insurance deals, specifically in the context of multi-peril crop insurance for drought-affected areas. Juerg joined UWA in 2015 and has previously taught at institutions such as the University of Zurich, University of Rochester, California State University, Northridge, and Victoria University of Wellington. In his capacity at UWA, he has served as the Coordinator for the Master of Economics Program and has taught courses in macroeconomics and mathematical economics. Juerg is also a team member at the Centre of Integrative Bee Research, where he contributes to research efforts in plant energy biology. Beyond academia, he serves as the Honorary Consul of Switzerland in Western Australia.
