Biography

Julia Gillard is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Cambridge and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She serves as the Principal Clinical Psychologist at the East England Major Trauma Centre, a specialist NHS mental health service. Previously, she was a Topol Digital Fellow at NHS England and the Associate Chief Clinical Information Officer at Camden Islington NHS Foundation Trust, where she worked in specialist mental health services for refugees, veterans, and survivors of childhood trauma. Julia completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and holds a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience from the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit at the University of Cambridge. She also earned an MSc in War Psychiatry from the Institute of Psychiatry at King's College London. Her research interests include understanding and treating trauma, depression, anxiety, risk resilience, cross-cultural psychology, veteran refugee mental health, and the use of digital mental health tools to improve access to services.
