Dr. Julia Moore

Biography

Julia Moore is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Western Australia and a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at the Gender Diversity Service in the Perth Children’s Hospital since 2015. She graduated from the University of Western Australia and has completed training through the Western Australian training program with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. Julia has extensive experience in hospital medicine and anaesthesia as well as occupational health. She is a member of the Australian Professional Association for Transgender Health and the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, where she has contributed to the development of the Australian Standards of Care and Treatment Guidelines for Trans Gender Diverse Children and Adolescents. Julia provides professional development and education for clinicians, supervises students and trainees in clinical placements, and advocates for supporting transgender diverse youth in healthcare contexts. She is involved in ongoing clinical research through the GENTLE project, aimed at following the health and quality of life of gender diverse young individuals in Western Australia. Julia's professional interests include treating depression in adolescence, child and adolescent mental health, family therapy, and infant mental health.
