Biography

Julia M. Pluta is a Collection Strategies Law Librarian at Cornell Law Library, joining the faculty in 2024. She began her professional library career in 2010 as an Emerging Technologies Librarian at Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law, before serving as Head of Reference at Texas Tech Law Library and Collection Development Librarian at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Prior to her library career, Julia was an in-house attorney with Fidelity National Title Group. Her research interests span a diverse range of areas including Mathematics and Statistics with an emphasis on social statistics, biostatistics, and stochastic systems theory; LGBTQIA+ law; neurodivergence in education and law; legal history; and the intersection of law and emerging technologies. Julia's eclectic academic and personal interests also include writing fiction, poetry, and essays; playing and designing games; baking bread; and exploring astronomy and speculative historical fiction.
