Biography

Julia Stein is the Deputy Director of the Emmett Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at UCLA School of Law. She supervises the California Environmental Legislation Clinic and the Frank G. Wells Environmental Law Clinic, where she applies her expertise in environmental litigation and regulatory compliance. Before joining UCLA, Julia practiced at several multinational law firms, focusing on complex environmental cases in both state and federal courts. Julia earned her B.A. cum laude from Georgetown University and her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, where she served as a Global Law School Teaching Fellow and was a Senior Editor for the Georgetown International Environmental Law Review. Julia has also contributed to various publications, including a chapter on Natural Resource Regulation in California, and has written for the California Policy Options, Environmental Law News, and the Daily Journal.
