Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Julian Guttman. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Julian Guttman is a Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Simon Fraser University, specializing in Cellular Microbiology. His research focuses on understanding the molecular alterations that occur during bacterial infections in epithelial cells, specifically in three major areas: the alterations in the cytoskeleton of host cells, the strategies bacteria employ to gain entry into host cells and spread, and the identification of therapeutics for bacterial infections. Prof. Guttman's lab employs a broad range of microbiological and molecular/cell biological tools, including proteomics, light and electron microscopy, 3D imaging, fluorescent protein imaging, and RNA interference CRISPR techniques, to investigate sub-cellular changes caused by various pathogens, including Listeria monocytogenes and pathogenic E. coli. He is currently looking for highly qualified undergraduate and graduate students as well as postdoctoral fellows to join his lab.
