Biography

Juliana Godinho Kenj earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Taubate School of Dentistry in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1997. She furthered her education by obtaining a Certificate in Advanced Education in Orthodontics and Functional Maxillary Orthopedics from the Brazilian Society of Orthodontics in 2003. In 2021, she completed an Advanced Education General Dentistry Preceptorship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, School of Dentistry. Dr. Kenj has a rich background in private practice, successfully running a dental practice in Brazil for nine years before moving to the USA in 2006. Her academic journey at UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry began in 2006 as a Professional Trainee in the Department of Restorative Dentistry & Biomaterials Research. She served as a volunteer in the Department of Restorative Dentistry & Prosthodontics and was subsequently appointed as an Assistant Professor. Currently, she is the Course Director for Operative Dentistry and is a member of the Esthetic Dentistry and Laser Dentistry Programs at UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry. Her dedication to professional development is further demonstrated by her active membership in the Society of Color Appearance in Dentistry, the Academy of Laser Dentistry, and the American Dental Education Association.
