Dr. Juliana Raupp

Biography

Juliana Raupp is a full professor of journalism and communication studies, focusing on organizational communication at Free University of Berlin. She earned her doctorate in 2000 with a dissertation on public art in comparative systems and has extensive experience as a research associate and educator at various universities including Zurich and Fribourg. Since 2006, she has led a professorship dedicated to study political communication, public relations, and crisis communication, exploring the effects of digital media on governance and public discourse. Raupp has chaired projects funded by the German Research Foundation, focusing on political opinion research and risk communication. Her scholarly contributions extensively address communication strategies, mobilization of public opinion, and crises, with numerous publications highlighting issues of strategic communication across various media. Juliana has participated in several academic and ethical committees within the university and is active in public discourse on communicative practices in political contexts, contributing to a deeper understanding of how media functions in public and governmental communications.
