Biography

Juliane Winkelmann focuses on the genetic architecture underlying molecular mechanisms of complex genetic neurological disorders and rare diseases, with a special emphasis on movement and sleep disorders. Throughout her career, she has garnered numerous awards, including being a member of the Leopoldina, the German National Academy of Sciences in 2020, and receiving the Sleep Science Award from the American Academy of Neurology in 2016.
