Biography

Julianne Scott is an accomplished clarinetist and instructor currently teaching at the University of Alberta in the Department of Music. She has gained prominence as the Principal Clarinetist for the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra since 2007, and previously held the same position with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic. Scott earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music with a focus on clarinet performance from the University of Toronto, and subsequently completed her Master’s degree at the University of Southern California under the mentorship of acclaimed instructor Yehuda Gilad. Her career has featured performances with various prestigious ensembles, including appearances as a soloist with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic and the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. Throughout her summers, she has participated in numerous music festivals, including the Aspen Music Festival and the Music Academy West. Scott is also an active faculty member, contributing to the clarinet program and chamber music instruction.
